- Describe how and why a character changes based on events of the story
- Read to answer and respond to questions (clarification and content questions)
- Retell the text to summarize information
- Create mental images that enhance and extend visualization
Along with the comprehension and analysis lessons, students will write reading responses using textual evidence along with an explanation of how the evidence supports their claim or thinking.
Writing: Last week students were given a situation or event where many characters were involved. They then were given the task to write from one character's perspective. This week students will revise their work by focusing on previously instructed craft lessons. They will also take part in the peer revision process and edit and publish their work. On Friday students will be posting these pieces to their blogs!
Math: This week students will complete lessons 9.2-9.4. Listed below are learning goals for the lessons:
- 9.2: Rename fourths, fifths, tenths, and hundredths as decimals and percents
- 9.3: Use calculators to determine the percents of more difficult fractions
- 9.4: Solve "fraction of" problems

- This Wednesday is parent-teacher conference day!
- Please have your child turn in their permission slip form for the field trip to Open Books
